Can I Still Transfer for the Fall 2018 Semester?

The answer is “yes,” but deadlines are rapidly approaching, or may have even expired for some institutions. For many students, transferring will be  similar to the experience they had as a freshman applicant. The application process can be time consuming, confusing and quite simply, overwhelming.  Each college or university has different requirements for transfers including transcripts, recommendation letters and essays. Some applications differ depending on the total amount of credits a student has completed at their previous college or university. Deadlines also vary greatly. For example, California state colleges and university deadlines were November 2017 for Fall 2018 transfers, while some Mid-Atlantic schools have deadlines as late as May 2018. Some common questions received from transfer students this year include:

*Will a College or University evaluate my transcript before I apply?

*Do I need a copy of my High School transcript?

*Should I send SAT/ACT Scores?

*Do I need to use the Common Application?

*What are mid term grades?

*What is a letter of Good Standing?

*Do I need to apply to a certain school within a College or University?

*Do I need to take Freshman Seminar if I am a Sophomore at my current school?
